Gottfried Arnegger (Vienna 1908 - 1943) was the son of the well-known landscape painter Alois Arnegger (1879-1967). Gottfried was a disciple of his father and always accompanied him on trips to South Tyrol, Switzerland and Italy, where both artists painted picturesque views of Lake Garda, Lago di Maggiore and Como, as well as seaside vistas of Naples, San Remo and Capri. Arnegger's paintings are characterized by masterfully rendered drawing and a vivid, almost sparkling color palette.
