Biography
He graduated from the Kraków School of Fine Arts, where he studied from 1888 to 1890. He continued his artistic studies in Vienna and Munich, where he was associated with Anton Ažbe’s studio. He completed his studies in the Bavarian capital in 1896, but returned there many times in the years that followed. He began exhibiting in 1891, presenting his works at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw and at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Kraków and Lviv. He painted atmospheric landscapes and seascapes; views of southern Italy (including Capri) were a frequent motif in his work.
