VIEW OF THE GROTE MARKT IN HAARLEM
Oil on wood, partly parquetted.
83 x 114 cm.
Monogram and dated lower right.

In the center, amidst the magnificent town houses and buildings of the city, is a market scene populated by figures of various origins gathered around a wooden podium that has probably just been erected by a showman. A couple in the left foreground and a man standing to one side in the right foreground are particularly striking due to their brightly colored clothing. High-quality, precise depiction with a high gray-white sky with thick cloud formations and some flying birds. (1410952) (18)
