Stanislaw Bagienski's education at Wojciech Gerson's Drawing Class in Warsaw was preceded by private lessons given to him by his father, Feliks. The next stage in his artistic education was the universities in Munich and Paris (in 1901-03), to which Bagienski was admitted thanks to scholarships from the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. Since 1900, the artist regularly exhibited at the Zachęta, as well as at the Krywult and Rychling salons. He painted genre scenes, Old Town vedutas, but was - above all - a battle painter. He also did landscape painting with Tatra and sea motifs. He collaborated with "Tygodnik Ilustrowany", "Biesiada Literacka", "Świat". He belonged to the association of painters Pro Arte.
