Painter and sculptor - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - painting under Jacek Malczewski and Teodor Axentowicz; sculpture under Konstanty Laszczka. In 1911 he made his debut at an exhibition at the TPSP in Cracow, where he later exhibited many more times. He also took part in other exhibitions, including those at TZSP in Warsaw. During World War I, while serving in the Austrian army, he drew and painted scenes from the front. After the war - in 1920 - he settled in Nowy Wiśnicz, moved to Zakopane in 1934, and returned to Wiśnicz in 1940. From 1951 he was a teacher of drawing at the local High School of Visual Arts and Technology. From 1961 he lived in Katowice. The artist painted portraits, genre scenes (Little Chessman) city views and numerous landscapes, including those of the Tatra Mountains and the Wiśnicz area. He also painted still lifes, figural compositions and religious paintings for churches. The artist's works can be found, for example, in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, the Museum of the Polish Army in Warsaw, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Museum of the Wiśnicz Land and in numerous private collections. A larger collection of Klimowski's works - most of which are donated by the artist's family - boasts the Museum of Wiśnicka Land in Nowy Wiśnicz.
