Painter and landscape artist Michele Cascella learned decoration on majolica in the village of Rapino in the province of Chieti, where he went with his father Basilio and brothers Tommaso and Giovacchino. Only the latter, fascinated by local productions, will remain in the small town at the foot of the Majella working as a ceramist.
Michele made about 40 drawings in the 1950s called "Italy as seen by Michele Cascella" for the Italian Ceramic Company of Laveno that were used to decorate important tableware.
