Zygmunt BRACHMAŃSKI
b. 1936 Rydułtowy
Sculptor and medalist associated with the Silesian artistic community. From 1953-1959 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, receiving his diploma from Prof. J. Bandura in 1959. He is the author of monuments, including Wojciech Korfanty in Katowice, the monument to the September Scouts in Katowice, the statuette of the Silesian Literary Laurel, the Konrad Laurel - National Festival of Directing Art "Interpretations", sculptures in the Provincial Park of Culture and Recreation in Chorzow. He made several monuments to John Paul II, designed and made monuments and interior decorations for churches. On December 14, 2007, from the hands of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski, he received the Bronze Medal "Meritorious to Culture Gloria Artis".
