Rafał WĄSOWICZ (1867-1944)
Descendant of the Dunin family, studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. With his wife Aniela, née Vespanska, they led a rich artistic life in their Warsaw townhouse. He had his painting studio there, which was used by his daughter, painter Maria Wąsowicz-Sopoćko. Rafał Wąsowicz studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 1914 he often exhibited at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. He painted landscapes and still lifes, as well as urban views of Krakow, Krzemieniec, Grodno, Vilnius and Warsaw.He died tragically during the Warsaw Uprising.
