The presented sculpture is the fruit of the work of a duo - Iga Borkowska and Kinga Zielińska, who in 2020 decided to combine their artistic experience under the name "OTEKI by hand" and create something completely new from their previous activities.
They begin to experiment together in ceramics. They simplify shapes, combine attention to detail and economy of means used. Vertical, abstract modular sculptures are created, which can be found in many private collections.
As the artists say: " Our Totems are symbolic representations of the power of nature and civilization in which we are all immersed. We abandon the realistic depiction of a mythical animal or plant ancestor, while the names: "guardian spirit," " power animal" or "spirit guide" strongly appeal to us. We continue to reduce, seeking calmness, simplicity and elegance."
