This is one of the variations on the theme of Édouard Manet's painting titled "Breakfast on the Grass"(Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe), created by the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. The artist created a whole series of works (paintings, prints and ceramics) inspired by Manet's original 1863 painting, studying the motif in depth in the 1960s.Picasso's version is characterized by his unique cubist and expressive style, intense colors (mainly yellow, red and blue) and simplified, geometric forms, which distinguishes it from Manet's realistic original. As in the original, the scene depicts figures (partially nude women and clothed men) at a meal in nature, but Picasso focuses on the relationship between painter and model, experimenting with composition and perspective.
Pablo Ruiz Picasso - Spanish painter, sculptor, draughtsman, printmaker, ceramicist and poet, considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Along with Georges Brac, he was the creator of the trend of painting known as Cubism.
