A monumental study devoted to the art gallery of Stanisław August Poniatowski, prepared by Tadeusz Mańkowski in collaboration with Zygmunt Batowski, Kazimierz Brokl, and Marian Morelowski. The publication presents the history of the royal collection, Stanisław August’s patronage of the arts, his relationships with artists, and the subsequent fate of the dispersed collection. The main body of the work consists of a detailed catalog covering 2,289 paintings as well as hundreds of miniatures, drawings, and other works, supplemented by indexes and cross-references. The volume is enriched by 155 plates with reproductions. A print run of 600 numbered pieces.
