In the early twentieth century, Michał Wywiórski frequently stayed with Olgierd Czartoryski in Stary Sielec near Jutrosin. Czartoryski invited various artists to his estate, including painters Julian Fałat and Antoni Procajłowicz, as well as the writer Henryk Sienkiewicz. The painting on offer became the property of the prince’s butler and remained in his family for three generations.
