Color lithograph, Arjomari velin paper; 30 x 18 cm in light passe - partout size.
60 x 40 cm; signed and dated on plate l.d. "19 01Raoul Dufy". The lithograph comes from a portfolio published
by Libraire Academique Perrin in Paris entitled "Homage to Raoul Dufy" and made by the
Atelier Mourlot.
Dufy was fascinated by public scenes, celebrations, the social life of the elite, but also by life in the
ports and at sea.
Dufy's paintings always exude light and joy. Even official scenes are
depicted with a certain carefreeness and optimism. His works are dominated by bright,
saturated colors-the blue of the sky and sea, the white of sails, the red and gold of flags. Dufy was a master of
lines. The outlines of figures, ships and details are drawn quickly and confidently, but with lightness. The line
often does not close the form perfectly, and color can "go out" beyond it, which creates an impression of
of spontaneity and dynamism. His versatility and unique style have made him one of the
most recognizable artists of the 20th century.
The fixtures shown in the visuals are for illustrative purposes and do not constitute a commercial offer
commercial.
